Greenheart Lake & McNamara Lake

Portofino Resources Inc. (“Portofino”) has the right to earn a 100% interest in 6 mining claims totaling approximately 2,320 hectares (“GLML”), located in northwestern Ontario (Canada).  GLML is strategically located within 15km of the town of Ignace and the claim areas are accessible by well-established logging roads proximally close to the Trans-Canada Highway.

Each property occurs proximal to a triple boundary junction of three Archean-age terranes: the Wabigoon, East Wabigoon and Winnipeg River. Terrane boundaries are recognized as important geological settings for lithium (“Li”) and rare metal pegmatites.

The GL Property lies 10km southeast of International Lithium’s Raleigh Lake lithium project and 15km northwest of Grid Metals Campus Creek lithium project.

The ML Property is contiguous with the southern claim boundary of Grid’s Campus Creek property.

REGIONAL BACKGROUND

Northwestern Ontario is host to several well-known Li and rare earth elements deposits that have delineated resources and preliminary economic assessment studies (Figure 2). Of note is the PAK Li deposit along the ‘Electric Avenue’ which contains one of North America’s highest-grade, large tonnage hard-rock Li resources. The PAK deposit has a mineral reserve in the proven and probable categories of 22 MT averaging 1.55% Li2O.

Also notable in northwestern Ontario is the Georgia Lake pegmatite deposit owned by Rock Tech Lithium with an estimated resource of 13.3 Mt Li2O; two deposits owned by Imagine Lithium containing historical resources of 2.75Mt Li2O and the Seymour Lake lithium deposit having an estimated resource of 9.9 Mt and the Root Lake deposit estimated at 12.6Mt Li2O both owned by ASX listed-Green Technology Metals.

PRIOR EXPLORATION

In 2022, Portofino carried out an initial, cursory surface sampling and reconnaissance program:

  • Multiple pegmatite boulders and veinlets identified
  • Possible spodumene crystals discovered
  • Approximately 30 grab samples assayed-a number of lithium indicator minerals were identified including anomalous lithium results.

NEXT STEPS

A follow-up exploration program is required to expand identified areas of interest advancing initial reconnaissance mapping and sampling.
